Today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Remember what today is about...No, not getting a holiday off of work or school, but for remembering a man who fought for rights for people, all people. Remember what he did, and use that to try and make a positive impact on your life and others just like he did. If we all could just try to do what's right a little more, the world would be a much better place. Oh, and always remember, don't judge a book by it's cover, don't discriminate. You can't tell what a person is thinking or how they feel about certain things just by looking at them, you have to know them.
We all know he had a dream......"that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.....when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual:
"Free at last! Free at last!
Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
Some say we still have racism today, I know this is true, but hopefully, I won't be saying this when I have kids of my own...God lay his hand upon us and bless us so we may have a future free of racism. Can't we all just get along? I think we can. I know we can.
